Abstract

Whist Thailand is filled with varieties of cultural capitals. Thai traditional textile is one of the most promising cultural capitals that play a vital role in helping the country’s economic growth. Unfortunately, Thai Traditional Textiles has been stuck in the slow rate of growth for years. Hence it becomes the reason why they have to urgently adapt themselves or die. This research aims to investigate the critical troubles those are obstacles for the development of Thai traditional textile entrepreneurs. The research applies qualitative research by using in-depth interviews technique with 30 experts in cultural products industry-consists of equally 15 experts in Thai textile fabrication and 15 experts in doing textile business. The research results reveal that Thai traditional textile entrepreneurs face with some major troubles. The top forth of most very high concerned troubles are lacking of knowledge in pattern design, lacking of public relation, lacking of funds for working capitals and lacking of using technology for helping in pattern design. While the remaining ten troubles still considered to be highly concerned, for instance, lacking of using technology for online marketing, lacking of technique in weaving or even lacking of tie and dye technique and so on. To solve the troubles faced by Thai traditional textile entrepreneurs. Most of experts mentioned about the incubation system to filter, train and support the entrepreneurs to overcome the troubles and enhance their opportunities to make Thai traditional textile industry to be accomplished
